Our Stage 1 ECU remap is developed to safely improve your vehicle's power and torque whilst maintaining standard components and remaining within tolerances.

It's the perfect balance of increased power and day-to-day usability, which is ideal for those who want extra performance but not at the cost of additional hardware or reliability.d as our fast road application which is the best all round performance for stock vehicles.

OPTIONS

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

Where applicable we are able to raise the RPM limiter enabling a wider RPM band for performance. This is available on both petrol and diesel engines.Where applicable we are able to raise/lower or completely remove the maximum speed limiter from a vehicle.Where applicable we are able to switch off the software functionality and monitoring for the swirl flaps, enabling them to be removed from the vehicle and save costly repair bills.

Wow.... outstanding performance and fuel economy at the same time.

I just left Celtic Tuning and drove back to my house 279 miles away. Did I enjoyed driving back oh hell yes, the new map that Graham put on my car came to live every miles with a outstanding power coming from the engine.

Graham I know you for the past 10 years and every time you remapped any of my cars you never let me down well done mate and well done to all team at Celtic Tuning.

Guys don't waste your time to have your car remapped any where else, Celtic Tuning is the place to go.

My car is an '07 plate B6 Passat TDI Sport (170) Estate, which was quite swift and responsive prior to being tuned by Celtic Tuning. As a former Police Traffic Patrol driver, I tend to drive fairly hard, and the Passat certainly lends itself to that. I recently fitted new heavy duty rear springs and shock absorbers (Sachs) which improved the handling hugely - it's got 166,000 on the clock and had been used as a rep's car, with I suspect, carrying heavy samples up and down the motorway, knackering the rear springs and S/As.

Celtic Tuning told me the car was ready and we went to collect it - lovely brand premises with brand new equipment including a dynamometer only to find the technician had taken it out on a test drive. They sat us down in their very nice 'lounge' area with coffees (hand -made, not out of a machine) in very nice mugs with their name and logo on them (I should've kept one!), and on the flat screen display was the graph of my car's engine readings before and after the re-map.

This was very interesting and informative. This showed engine power as 209.6 bhp (torque 335.4 lb ft) at 3,883 rpm with 177.2 BHP, dropping off gradually to just under 5,000 rpm, then rapidly dropping off to 190 at 5,000 rpm.

The PROs - vastly improved power band, far more responsive, BHP increased from the nominal 170 to 209.6, vastly improved torque from 2,500 up to 4,500 rpm, mpg pre re-map averaging 39, now if nursed at 55-60 mph just under 51, driven hard 45s, so gaining all round.

The CONs - in higher gears 5th and 6th, going uphill at 3-4,000 rpm, so much power is produced that the clutch will start to slip, it's done 166,000, so it's probably due for replacement anytime soon, which also means a new Dual Mass Flywheel - never replace a clutch without the DMF - a false economy, and although saving £375 ish for a new DMF, you'll end up having to pay to get the complete job done again within a few thousand miles and risk damaging the synchromesh in the gearbox. It would be very easy to collect speeding tickets now, so keep an eye on the speedo at all times. I haven't measured it, but I'd guess 0 - 60 takes about 6 seconds.

Overall, would I advise others to go down this route, a resounding yes. It's a good and fast car as standard, but now with stiffer suspension and ECU re-mapped, it's now a superb drive, and comparable/better than some true sports cars.

Mods and remap carried April/May 2015 - and still delighted with improved performance.

Hi I would just like to thank Celtic Tuning for not only being a pleasure to work with prior to going ahead with the car tune and setting up the appointment.

So far the car performance is so much better, performs really well plus fuel consumption so far better depending on how you drive, but on good run I am getting 4 – 5 mpg better.

Car performance for this level VW Passat is improved dramatically.

Many Thanks.

Engineer was prompt, tidy knowledgeable and efficient - the whole job including test drive took him less than an hour.

I'm so pleased with the results. My main disappointment with the car had been a flat spot as the auto box changed from 1st to 2nd meaning I was always last away at the traffic lights. This has now been completely eliminated and the car pulls so much better through the range. The throttle is now far more responsive and the ride is much smoother, particularly at speed.

As a bonus there was also an immediate improvement in mpg. On my regular commute - 40 miles each way on a mix of motorway, urban roads and country lanes the return has gone from a regular 47mpg to 53 or so..

The world’s best boring car has become a performer.

I'd definitely recommend Celtic Tuning.

Best regards and many thanks to all involved.

AUTOMATIC

HAVE AN AUTOMATIC?

Alongside the engine control unit (ECU) we are also able to provide transmission control unit (TCU) software to help further enhance your vehicle. There is a lot of limitation built into modern gearbox software to help hold back the power gains you are trying to achieve from your engine, our gearbox software overcomes this and helps transform the way the car drives. Some of the modifications include raising maximum torque limiters, faster gear shift speeds, increased clamping pressures to prevent clutch wear, increased engine RPM limiters and much more…
