Great to see Kevin again. I really appreciate the way he explains the process of the remap – apart from which he’s a very nice and interesting bloke.
The remap is amazing! Part of the reason for my delay was that I needed a burn on the motorway and a decent cross country ‘A’ road trip to be able to assess the remap. The reason for this is that the common rail remap is so different from the PD engine. On the PD, the remap suddenly kicked in and threw you back into the seat. The common rail remap is much more ‘linear’ – very smooth, very fast – both to the extent that I have to remind myself to be careful. It’s turned the car into a beauty to drive.
The car continues to give excellent fuel consumption: 60 – 63 mpg 45- 60 mph without too much stop/start on A roads. 48 – 55 mpg around town, short journeys. I think this is remarkable for a 2.0 ltr diesel that can accelerate very fast if you put your foot down.
Thanks very much.

Alongside the engine control unit (ECU) we are also able to provide transmission control unit (TCU) software to help further enhance your vehicle. There is a lot of limitation built into modern gearbox software to help hold back the power gains you are trying to achieve from your engine, our gearbox software overcomes this and helps transform the way the car drives. Some of the modifications include raising maximum torque limiters, faster gear shift speeds, increased clamping pressures to prevent clutch wear, increased engine RPM limiters and much more…
