The new 3.0 V6 Turbo Diesel engine is a leap forward in terms of technology and refinement. With 2,000 bar injectors and the latest common rail injection system, this engine is extremely smooth and flexible and therefore a great base for tuning. These engines come mated to automatic gearboxes which means kickdown occurs below 2,000rpm, this is the reason for the lower than quoted torque figures as peak torque is around 1,800rpm yet the auto gearbox wont allow this. We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fuelling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.

From the first moment I drove the car, you could tell the massive difference this work has done to the car; it feels like it should have always done. It does feel like a different car and the engine really seems to live up to its potential.

I do 40,000 miles plus a year and this car with 130,000 on it feels perky and fresh. I am looking forward to using the extra performance and the additional fuel economy when I am not!

(My previous car was reprogrammed and the manufacturer mechanics claimed it was the fastest version they had ever driven and I achieved over 54 mpg from a 2.4 TD on average over 100,000 miles).
