I had my LHD Pathfinder in the UK, so I decided to get it remapped.
Celtic did an amazing job. After remapping it I had a turbo problem (not related). Celtic went above and beyond to assist and ensure I was not left stranded.
It turned out there was a blocked oil feed pipe to the turbo that had been there for some time. Once that was repaired the remap could be explored properly. A great job and the extra power is really noticeable. This was just a stage 1 remap, and I can't see why you would need to go any further than that.
Thanks guys! I'm on the way in later today with the Audi TT for remapping now. I can't wait to try that one out on the Autobahn in Germany next week!

Date ECU re-mapping performed: 2015/11/06
Type of re-mapping: Stage 1
Mileage ECU re-mapping performed: 50,156km
ECU re-mapped in Johannesburg, South Africa by Martin (Celtic Tuning SA)
Vehicle driving style: Prior to re-mapping: predominantly urban cycle; after re-mapping mixed cycle, driven 6,800km in total since re-map. No hard acceleration.
Before Celtic re-mapping, the vehicle was re-mapped by South African agents for Auto-Tune.
Performance tabulated below:
Description | Original | Auto-Tune re-map | Celtic Tuning re-map |
Power, kW | 110.0 (Nissan spec) | 14.0 max gain | 25.2 max gain |
Torque, Nm | 320.0 (Nissan spec) | 39.0 max gain | 75.3 max gain |
Fuel consumption, L/100 km | 6.60 (actual) | 6.74 (actual) | 6.14 (actual) |
Power and torque for Auto-Tune and Celtic Tuning ECU Re-mapping measured on Dastek dynamometers.
Fuel consumption measured by dividing volume of consumed (re-filled) fuel by distance travelled.
Auto-Tune map produced some gains in power in torque, albeit at a cost of higher fuel consumption, which is no magic.
Celtic tuning ECU re-mapping produced excellent gains in both power and torque while saving in fuel consumption at the same time, which means improved fuel efficiency. The vehicle is more dynamic yet demanding less throttle push, it pulls better on incline and also smokes less after re-mapping.
Overall the outcome exceeded expectations. Excellent and professional service by local agent. Money well spent, highly commendable!

I have just had my 2.2 DCi tuned and EGR valve mapped out. I had already made a few physical modifications. Blocked the EGR valve, removed the rear exhaust box (dustbin) with a straight through pipe (no extra noise, there would be if the cat is removed), and a few other small things. They all help in making it smoother and helped the turbo kick in lower in the rev's.
The tune was done by Simon from Hayling Island. I removed the ECU for him, and 2 hours later it was all done, and of for a test drive. This is definitely a big improvement. The engine pull hard from as low as 1,500 and just keep pulling right up the rev's range.
I am not one to thrash an engine, but it is there if needed. As to it's drive-ability, it is just magic. So smooth to drive, and with so much more go. Tick over is no louder, if anything a tat quieter.
So definitely 2 thumbs good.

Thanks for the prompt and painless way in which you improved the performance of my Almera.
It is now more free revving than it was before and, although top speed is not any higher, it does what you said it would do and gets there much more quickly. The torque produced has increased considerably and the car pulls like a train, especially in third. Fuel consumption does not appear to have changed much, if at all.
Overall a highly recommended modification.

Hi Graham, Sorry Ive been a long time getting back to you, regarding the remap you carried out on my Tino diesel. I have found it to be very succesfull, motorway performance is outstanding. The ability to cruise at 70-80m.p.h. is effortless.
I have not precisly checked fuel economy, but it is no worse, and I think its probable better, allthough its a great temptation to drive to make use off the improved performance. All things considerd, it was money well spent. Once again, thanks for coming to me and sorting out my car, which could only be described as a "gutless" prior to your attention with your "magic box". Cheers for now untill I need my next car sorting out.

Alongside the engine control unit (ECU) we are also able to provide transmission control unit (TCU) software to help further enhance your vehicle. There is a lot of limitation built into modern gearbox software to help hold back the power gains you are trying to achieve from your engine, our gearbox software overcomes this and helps transform the way the car drives. Some of the modifications include raising maximum torque limiters, faster gear shift speeds, increased clamping pressures to prevent clutch wear, increased engine RPM limiters and much more…
