First off all I have to say how impressed I am with the professionalism and customer service the team at Celtic Tuning offer. Having initially decided to go with a remap installed by one of their technicians, after some thought about the hassle and expense of having the modified map reuploaded every time BMW did a software update, I figured the extra few quid spent on the eMotion unit was well worth it. Although I've messed with many a motorcycle's ECU, I must admit I was a little nervous about tinkering with a BMW's brain, but I can assure you that the software in the eMotion unit is clever enough to outwit anything. Now, the owner, well, that's a different matter. So, if you get one of these machines don't do what I did and forget that BMW use a two-stage ignition. Just because some of the lights are visible on the dash doesn't mean that the ignition itself is actually on. Once the guys at Celtic had very courteously pointed out the error of my ways, installing the modified map was a breeze - and boy, is it worth it. If you've got a 320d, think in terms of now having a 330d. I've only spent an hour or so driving it thus far, but will pop back after a few thousand miles or so and give a more detailed report.

There is a lot of limitation built into modern gearbox software to help hold back the power gains you are trying to achieve from your engine, our gearbox software overcomes this and helps transform the way the car drives. Some of the modifications include raising maximum torque limiters, faster gear shift speeds, increased clamping pressures to prevent clutch wear, increased engine RPM limiters and much more…
