Well imagine my surprise when Kevin from Celtic turned up and worked out my car was already remapped but by whom we don’t know, so he recommended we try their remap and see if there was any difference.
So this is just what he did and after many cups of tea and chit chat about cars with the new map installed we hit the road for a test drive and although it was not a huge difference, there was a difference.
I guess at this point I should apologise to Kevin for his white knuckle ride (although I think he may have enjoyed it). On returning from my audition for the new Stig, Kevin asked if I would like to keep the remap, so I said yes as I felt it was better than the unknown map on the car previously, so well done Celtic and well done Kevin for his patience and efforts, many thanks.
Differences noticed:
Better throttle response, soft rev limiter removed making the fast road driving so much more fun and enjoyable also holding the revs a little higher too. Today I took a trip to Cornwall and gave the new map a proper test and the first thing I noticed was the mid range power, I was quite impressed and it didn’t end there it seemed to pull on a little better also.
I should also mention to anyone thinking of remapping a B6/B7 S4 that I would highly recommend it. Mine has a Milltek exhaust system from the cats back and also a K&N filter element which also makes a big difference in sound and performance.
